Our Club was Chartered on April 10, 2009!
American Volkssporting Association (AVA) clubs are non-profit associations. The clubs promote fun, fitness, and friendship.
Most AVA-sanctioned walks are 5 or 10 kilometers (3.1 or 6.2 miles). Members are encouraged to walk using directions and maps at various locations throughout the USA using the "Online Start Box" (OSB) located on AVA's website at https://my.ava.org.
Note: In January 2024, our club will transition from using traditional "Walk Boxes" stored at starting points to using Online Start Boxes (OSB). The fee for using the OSB per walk will increase to $4.00. If you pay the walk leader directly for a group walk sponsored by ETW, the fee will remain at $3.00.
David Bonewitz founded our club in 2009. He served as the Club President until moving up to Southeast Regional Director. Next, he served as the AVA President from 2017 to 2021.
