Our family began our Volksmarching "career" while David was assigned to Offutt AFB in Omaha, Nebraska.  Our first walk was the Global Event at Offutt AFB in 1988.  Through the many transfers of a 26-year Air Force career, we had numerous opportunities to participate in Volksmarches around the country.  We have found this non-competitive sport to be great family fun.  In fact, with our two boys we have walked the 50 States.  Our Volksmarching went on hold following retirement from the service and our move to Louisville, Tennessee.  With the formation of the East Tennessee Wanderers, we look forward to again enjoying the fun, friendship, and fitness that Volksmarching has offered us.
