For club walks, you can either walk a 5K (3.1 miles) or a 10K (6.2 miles).  The "walk alert" will provide the different start times.

There are three "types" of walks—Club, Guided, and Traditional Event:

1.   A Club Walk is a walk done as a club activity using an YRE (Year Round Event) as the walk route.  Those who are collecting AVA/IVV stamps in their books can get credit for these walks for a $3.00 fee.

For YREs, you can walk it at any time and earn AVA credit for your books.   Just go to the walk box, pick up a map, fill out all the paperwork, stamp your books, do the walk, then mail your check in the envelope provided.

Our Club "Walk" boxes are located in Alcoa, Alcoa (Bike), Clinton, Elkmont, Ft. Loudoun, Gatlinburg (Tourist), Gatlinburg (Trail), Knoxville (Music/Moonshine/Art), Knoxville (UT), Maryville (Temporarily Not Available), Oak Ridge, Rogersville, and Townsend.  Additional walks in Tennessee can be found at http://clubs.ava.org/ava_search.asp.

2.   A Guided Walk is a an AVA sanctioned walk held on one day with a fixed start time for all participants.  The event is conducted as a group walk.

3.   The Traditional Event is a special walk set up as a one-day event for AVA/IVV credit.  The fee is $3.00 to stamp your books, and there may be an additional "optional" fee for a patch or a lapel pin.
